Recorded by Jonah Eller-Isaacs (then a graduate student at Vanderbilt University) in Northern Malawi in the summer of 2004, the AIDS Songs of Northern Malawi collection consists of a series of songs in traditional style dedicated to topics surrounding the AIDS epidemic. Originally performed in the chiChewa and chiTumbuka Bantu languages of the region, full recordings, lyrics, and translations are being made available online.

Translations were provided by Albert "Chimwe" Chimwemwe Nyirongo.

This collection is part of the Global Music Archive (GMA) at Vanderbilt University, a collaboration between the Blair School of Music and the Vanderbilt University Libraries.
